Dodana vrednost izmenjave je predvsem v navezovanju institucionalnih stikov in sodelovanja z pedagoškim in raziskovalnim osebjem na fakulteti. Erasmus izmenjava omogoča vpogled v prakse in spoznavanje način izvajanja univerzitetnega študija na drugem koncu Evrope v drugačnem kulturnem in družbenem kontekstu. Na ta način izmenjava spodbuja in pripomore k izmenjavanju najboljših praks pri poučevanju in raziskovanju.«

Mnenje o mednarodni mendarodni izmenjavi profesorjev
For me the three main issues were accommodation, studies and traveling.
Regarding accommodation Kranj has a student dorm where you can rent from single rooms to small apartments. The dorm is located at a 20-minute walk from the faculty and 15 minutes from the centre of the town. Another option is staying in Lubliana in one of the many dorms or sharing a flat with more students. I must say Lubliana is a very nice place with plenty of Erasmus life, and considering that it´s about 40 minutes away by bus it is a quite attractive option. It offers a broader amount of options as you would expect from the country’s capital. But whatever suits you the best.
I must point out that students are very well treated in this country. They offer a large quantity of discounts and offers for students. One of the best examples is Boni, a discount for meals available in many restaurants where you can get a full meal for prices surrounding 2-3 euros. A fast way to get it is going to the ESN centre in Lubliana, 10 minutes walking from the bus station.
Regarding studies my personal experience is that teachers and administration in the faculty are really helpful and they will help you to learn at get the most from the Erasmus experience. There is really no reason to be worried here. Just listen to them and do your best and you will learn and enjoy. Also, don´t be afraid of asking questions or help, because both people from the faculty and Slovenians in general are really polite and helpful. Something that I sometimes miss back in my home country.
Concerning traveling, try and do it as much as you can. Slovenia has many beautiful places to discover but is also a couple ours away from many other countries in Europe. Companies like Nomago offer cheap comfortable transport to most of the countries that you can drive to from Slovenia. Also, the ESN organises trips with other Erasmus students to different countries, this is a good chance to travel and meet new people.
My final advice is to relax and enjoy one of the best experiences of your life. Don´t worry if it seems like a lot the first couple days. Make friends, have fun, travel and try and learn as much as possible from this charming country and its people.
Best wishes and good luck,
David
