Course Content:
This course upgrades the previous general, basic and broader understanding of diplomacy (the origin, development and definition, special diplomacies, diplomacy and globalization, outstanding Slovenian multilateral projects, diplomatic organization and its processes, diplomatic and consular law, protocol and diplomacy as a profession, security and protection of diplomatic work, history of the Slovenian diplomacy, future of diplomacy) and deepens its selective and focused interdisciplinary understanding. It reaches out to some other areas like sociology, political sciences, communication and organization sciences. It focuses on historical and comparative research and understanding of the relations between state – diplomacy – social and historical situation as well as on understanding of diplomacy as an institution of the international society. It brings into the research area also innovation in diplomatic practice (like e-diplomacy) and takes into account diplomacies of new small states after the end of the Cold War.
